Well it's easy. Here's what I did. This worked well! This is ONLY for svideo TO rca. going the other way takes some electronics What I did is buy a svideo extention cable. Leave on the end you want to plug in, and cut it in the midddle. Inside you should find TWO sheilded wires. (an inner wire wrapped in plastic wrapped in shielding.) The RCA cable just has a single shielded wire (coax, that is). What you do first is tie all 3 of the inner conductors together (the 2 from the svideo to the 1 from the rca..) and solder it. Then, wrap that in black tape. Then, put aluminum foil around all of that and attach the shields together. Svideo just has the color(chroma) and the b&w(luminance) signal separate so they don't bleed into each other. You can simply tie 'em together and you'll get a plain old video connection hope this helps! this is what i suspected, and i found enough info to convince myself it was accurate. And it works!
